Dance for your Life
Shows women, stitched into Mud Cloth, strips, hand woven and dyed in Mali, sub Saharan West Africa.
Mali is one of the poorest countries in Africa and is in such a dangerous state of unrest that our government advises against all travel to the country at the moment.  Women and children always suffer in times of war, which is why my women are dancing for their lives, in their imagination.
But the echoes of hope are fading.

This piece [when finished]  and another Waving not Drowning  [when finished] will be at the TAGS exhibition in July.

Sara Impey

Sara sent me this image of one of her quilts called Alternative Colour Chart. Hopefully you can click up the size to see why she called it that.

This piece is going up in the exhibition in Woodbridge library to morrow for the rest of the month. Called it Dark Dance what I should really have said was Shadow Dance!

It was interesting to see this Boetti piece done 30 0dd years ago[his work is showing in Tate Modern]. Compared with piece done by Gavin Turk done recently.

new plan

This is my Plan B blog and was meant to record my stitching efforts, but somehow I have consolidated on Chillsider. But I like this title and the feeling of guilt [after so many years I am comfortable with that] so anyway New Year, New Plan.

I shall endeavour to make it a picture blog. I often download [upload what's the difference pics to stimulate the jaded palate so I will stick them on here.
